Photographs Real ! What?

Photographers must "see" the end of the picture at the begining. Training the eye and mind to view the sene or object for what it is or what it could be.
Creative photography isn't as much technical manipulation as it is capturing the obvious.






Many people see the Duck picture and imagine snow is what they are swiming in. Then surmising that this is not the case asume the possibility that the photograph has been manipulated.
The effect is a simple fact of the light green of alge comes out as light white in black and white film. Knowing this when I make the picture helps me be creative with the subjects.
Reflections on Binions pond is a photo that many people want to turn over because the trees at the top are pointing down. The fact that it is a reflection is not immediatly apparent. Also because the trees in the frame are also down. Seeing this effect through the lense and arranging the sujects in an interesting way makes the photograph seem sureal.



This Photo "Spring Shoot" is effective for what is symbolises both death and life. Destruction and creation. Still while it is obviously a bullit with a plant growing from it I have been asked if I set it up that way. Did I put the plant in it or is it digitaly produced ?

Curious questions to me but understandable too. The bullit and plant were found together as you see them. My only inspiration was that they were a photograph that had to be made.
